I received my BA in Psychology and MS and PhD in Cognitive Science, all from Yonsei University. Following this, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Vanderbilt University and began my academic career as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Sungshin Women's University (SSWU).
After four years of mentoring talented young scientists at SSWU, I moved to Sogang University and launched DCANT Lab. My research at DCANT Lab investigates perceptual rhythms, visual awareness, and their interactions in creating a seamless and uninterrupted sense of the visual world.

Suyeon received her BA and MA in Psychology from SSWU and is continuing her work at DCANT Lab. Her research investigates how the visual system distributes attention to handle complex demands from multiple tasks—for instance, focusing on a specific person while simultaneously reading the room.
Hyerim received her BA in Psychology from SSWU and began her own research at DCANT Lab. She is interested in the motion silencing illusion (Suchow & Alvarez, 2011) and the visual features that could enhance or reduce this phenomenon.
Nayoung earned her BA in Psychology at SSWU before starting her research at DCANT Lab. Her research focuses on how relationships among objects are processed to construct a visual scene. She uses the dichoptic presentation technique to investigate the role of subcortical processing during scene understanding.
