For Future Team Members

What kinds of research areas can I study at DCANT Lab?

Please refer to the Research Topics page for detailed information. In addition to those topics, we are broadly interested in research areas related to ‘visual’ awareness.

What kinds of research methods are used at DCANT Lab?

We use behavioral experiments, neurophysiology (EEG), and computational modeling. While we have not yet used convolutional neural networks, we are open to exploring them in the future.

Are there any prerequisites for applying to DCANT Lab?

A basic understanding of statistics (e.g., t-tests, ANOVA), experimental research methods, and cognitive or perceptual psychology is recommended.

Should I study programming? If yes, which language?

Yes, programming skills are a big plus, so we encourage you to learn if you have the opportunity. At DCANT Lab, we primarily use MATLAB and JavaScript, but experience with any ‘programming’ language can be helpful. Note that markup languages like HTML and XML do not count as programming languages.
